Who We Are
Our Law Firm started as Dele Farotimi & Co. in 2002 and metamorphosed into DF Legal in January 2018. We are a full service law firm constituted as a partnership of highly experienced and trained partners and a team of associates.
Over the years, we have provided high profile legal solutions and services in litigation, alternative dispute resolution, intellectual property, real estate and property law, infrastructure and energy law, public private partnerships etc.
Dele Farotimi, ESQ
Mr Farotimi was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1999 and has since practised litigation and transactional law.
He commenced his legal career as a litigation counsel in the law firms of Adesina Ogunlana & Co, Basa & partners and others, before joining K.O. Tinubu & Co where he worked under notable legal luminaries as the late K. O. Tinubu, B. R. Fashola, SAN and Rasheed Oluwa. He established Dele Farotimi & Co in 2002, now known as DF Legal.
Mr Farotimi is a thorough professional, known for his tenacious approach in achieving results and ability to broker complicated negotiations. His wealth of experience and great expertise has earned him a formidable reputation in the field.
In addition to cross-border intellectual property, finance and electricity transactions, amongst others, the firm has effectively handled high-profile litigation under his leadership and has become arguably the largest real estate law practice in Lagos, providing transactional support services: handling title transfers, financing and mortgages in relation to the development and transfer of over 10,000 properties in the last 10 years.
Mr Farotimi currently acts as legal adviser to some of the biggest players in the real estate sector, including mortgage institutions and developers in Lagos. He is also engaged in several recovery matters for both government agencies and private businesses.
He is the Principal Partner of the Firm.

Mrs Ogundare commenced her law practice in 2002 as litigation counsel with Kehinde Sofola & Co. Whilst at Kehinde Sofola & Co. she represented foreign and multi-national clients in a range of civil and commercial litigation cases spread across product liability, infrastructure and family law.
She later joined Babalakin & Co. in 2004 as an associate and was involved in Commercial Drafting and Corporate Practice including project finance, banking and securities, mergers and acquisition as well as taxation. She later headed one of the Firm’s Company Secretarial Teams.
Notably, was her involvement in the review of the MMA2 BOT Agreement, where she worked on drafting, reviewing and negotiating various service agreements for the operation of the terminal and was also involved in the negotiation of other high profile commercial transactions.
She took a break in 2009 to concentrate on her kids and in 2012, she joined Babajide Koku & Co. (BKC) as a senior counsel. Her impressive performance earned her a reputation in the Nigerian legal community as a highly skilful and result oriented trial lawyer, particularly in high-value dispute resolution. She excelled in the corporate and commercial practice areas and was recently involved in the drafting and negotiation of a multimillion Dollar management buy out of a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR).
She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Mrs Ogundare is the Managing Partner of the Firm, and also a part of the litigation team.

Ralph commenced his legal career at Ikeyi Egudu & Co. (now Ikeyi & Arifayan) as an associate. At Ikeyi Egudu & Co, he was actively involved in the provision of transactional support services including legal audits, foreign investment structuring, infrastructure law advisory, finance/tax advisory, corporate finance, immigration matters etc.
He worked as a litigation counsel at the High court and appellate court levels and joined the firm in November 2006 as an associate, a position he held until September 2007.
In September 2007, he served as legal officer at Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC), where he played an active role in the negotiation and conclusion of the award-winning USD 400 million, Lekki Epe road expansion financing. He returned to the Firm in January 2009 as a senior counsel and has since worked extensively and advised on commercial transactions locally and offshore, focusing on intellectual property, real estate, Infrastructure and energy, regulations and compliance.
Ralph holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the Boston University School of Law, MA, United States. He also attended classes at Etvos Lorand University, Budapest Hungary and designed an FCPA compliance program for a subsidiary of a foreign multinational as his final project.
He is known for his great analytical skills and commitment to excellence.
He is a Partner at the Firm and also coordinates the Commercial, Real Estate, Regulatory and Corporate Group.

Prof. Festus Emiri
Delta State University, and recently the Deputy Director-General, Nigerian Law School and pioneer Head of Yenagoa Campus, Bayelsa State. Prof. Festus Emiri is also an experienced advocate who has represented corporate bodies and individuals in diverse areas of law such as arbitration and real estate law. He has also represented the Bayelsa State government in various census matters, election petitions and peace reconciliation matters
He is the author of several books and articles on areas of law such as Law and Economics, Trusts Law, Medical Law & Ethics, Critical Legal Thinking and Advanced Jurisprudence, Unjust Enrichment Law and Lawyering Skills.
He is a member of several professional bodies including the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Nigeria, the Nigeria Association of Law Teachers and the American Law & Economics Association, Legal Writing Institute.
Prof Festus Emiri is a Senior Partner and coordinates the litigation group. He is also our Head of Practice.
